Thankful for Our Great Teaching Staff

We at Father Allouez Catholic School are proud of the great dedication of our faculty and staff. They are devoted to teaching to our students’ minds, hearts, and souls with creativity, passion, and grace. They put their whole selves into giving our students great foundations in faith and academics. It is reflected in the students’ growth each year, and in the culture of our school!

Developing Readers & Writers

What a great thing it is to develop a a love of reading, and then help students discover how to use analytical skills, writing abilities, and, even creative illustrating so they become adept and appreciative readers AND writers.

A great example of this for Father Allouez Catholic Students was a recent project that Mrs. Zedler’s 4th Grade Class enjoyed. Her 4th Graders had the choice of reading either “Holes” by Louis Sachar or “Matilda” by Roald Dahl.  They were then tasked with doing a One Page Project.   As Mrs. Zedler explains, “A One Page Project for a novel study is a creative assignment where students showcase their understanding of a book on a single page. It combines written analysis with visual elements to summarize key themes, characters, and literary devices in a concise and engaging way. Students might include quotes, symbols, drawings, and personal reflections to demonstrate comprehension and creativity. The goal is to capture the essence of the novel in a visually appealing and thought-provoking format.”  These are the kinds of teaching strategies and learning fulfillment that our students are blessed with each day, week, and year at Father Allouez!

FACS Students Benefit from Athletics

Each year, Father Allouez students are given the chance to participate in a wonderful variety of sports: soccer, basketball, track, tennis, and golf.  The benefits are great.  We have a “no cut, everyone participates” policy.

Team athletics offer significant developmental benefits beyond just physical activity.  They foster crucial social and emotional skills, can improve academic performance, and, contribute to a child’s overall well-being. Self-esteem is boosted, teamwork is encouraged, and life skills like perseverance and leadership are fostered!

Besides all the fun and camaraderie and success of team sports, these are skills we believe they instill:

  • Time Management
  • Creativity in finding ways to improve
  • Development of focus and concentration
  • Learning to handle internal pressure
  • Taking responsibility for individual performance as a teammate

We are grateful for the dedication of our Athletic Director, Mr. Chris Haese, and his wonderful coaches who teach and mentor our students when they participate in sports at FACS.

The Chance to Shine in Music Theater!

This year, over 60 of our Father Allouez students, from Grades 3 through 8, were part of the amazing musical, Mary Poppins Jr.  Participation is optional, so the large number that chose to play a role is impressive!

We are grateful for the outstanding theatrical and musical leadership that helps develop the talent and creativity of our students.  A cast and crew of Middle School Students is supported by a Grades 3 and 4 ensemble.  Coordinating acting, music, choreography, sets, props, tech, and 19 scene changes for our students was six months in the making.  And the results were remarkable.

We thank the amazing direction and guidance of talented parents, faculty, and grandparents, as well as the help of local sound and lighting professionals!  Thank you for making this great experience possible for our students!

Grade 3 Science – Raising Chicks

Our Father Allouez 3rd Grade classes have been learning about animal life cycles in their “Project Lead the Way Science Module”. The students discover it takes 21 days for a chick to hatch. On Day 18, the egg turner comes out and the teachers candle an egg to see if there has been growth inside the egg. The students learn that not all the eggs will hatch and some chicks may become weak during the hatching process. This year the 3rd Graders are blessed to have three healthy chicks actively playing and chirping in the classroom!! 🐣🐥🐓🤩🌟🌟🌟🙏🏼

Live Stations of the Cross at Father Allouez

Each Lent our 4th Grade Students present a beautiful depiction of the Stations of the Cross. They work on their presentation beginning in January.

Each ‘actor’ is proud of the work they put in to poignantly tell the Way of the Cross. Their families and fellow students come to witness their portrayal of Jesus’ final journey of love. As we know, He loved us so much that He gave up his life for us. Whether performing the parts or praying along, we are all reminded that to give our love to others is to show our love to God.

Volunteer spotlight

Outstanding Volunteer Spotlight: Father Allouez Catholic School

In the conclusion of our GRACE Outstanding Volunteer Spotlights for 2024-25, GRACE is delighted to recognize Heather Milbach. Heather was presented with this award at a Mass on February 20th.

For the past seven years, Heather has helped Father Allouez Catholic School in every imaginable way: in some big ways, and often just as important, in a thousand little ways. She volunteers as a Girl Scout leader and in the lunchroom, serving meals and cleaning up with a smile. Every year she works tirelessly on the Auction Fundraiser — these past two years as a Co-Chair! Heather is also Vice-Chair of the Site Advisory Council, where she leads the “Activities and Community Outreach” branch and her light shines through her presence at Resurrection Parish — on Pastoral Council, where she serves as a school liaison, and when she helps with Hospitality after Masses, with Generations of Disciples, and with Vacation Bible School.

Heather is always there when called upon: for Field Day, for Catholic Schools Week, to substitute teach, and for her many other community roles and contributions. Her dedication to her wider community is vast.

Heather, we are incredibly grateful for all the kindness, wisdom, and dedication you put into serving our school. One of our great blessings is having the light of people like Heather Milbach in our midst!

A Tradition of Twins

“Happiness was born a twin.” – Lord Byron

Statistically about 3.12% of babies born in the U.S. are twins. But at Father Allouez Catholic School, we seem to have had remarkable numbers of twins, especially in several eras. Check out two examples: the black and white photo is our sets of twins featured in a Green Bay Press-Gazette photo in 1947; the more recent photo of our twins is from 60 years later in 2017!

Today, let’s give a big shout-out to our twins and their amazing parents!! 📣👬👭👫👏👏#DoubleTheFun#LoveOurTwins#WeAreGRACEgb
