Our Middle School students enjoy diversifying their knowledge through choosing several “electives” — and this new trimester has a bevy of different choices! One of our current electives, “LEGO ROBOTICS,” is taught by our Principal, Mr. Francis Dempsey.
Students are hard at work, beginning to blueprint their first builds for their “battle bot”. After their builds are complete, they will begin to work with the programming side of things to figure out whether or not the maneuverability of their design works, and how well it will hold up against fierce opposition.
This encourages intellectual curiosity and incorporates the Scientific Method of planning and experimenting, not only with what they build, but also with what they learn to program!
