Following our All-School Mass this morning, it was time to salute our Father Allouez Catholic School READ-A-THON winners. The title of this year's Read-a-thon was "By Mary's Light, We Journey Through Books!"
An extra-special shout out to Mrs. Jennie Gracer for initiating, planning, and coordinating the entire event!! We thank our school parents for their continued support in helping us promote literacy and a love of reading! It was a fantastic way to encourage students to develop strong reading habits outside of school.
Parents tracked the amount of time their student(s) spent reading at home each day through a digital link. There were book recommendations for each grade, though students could read other materials as well. Families supported their children by setting aside time for daily reading and helping them record their reading minutes.
IN JUST 17 DAYS, OUR STUDENTS' AT-HOME READING TOTALED 70,638 MINUTES!! The effort, enthusiasm and commitment to reading was a huge success. 📣 Congratulations to students who read the most minutes from each class, from Grade 8 through PreK: Lucy, Paul, Ben, Parker, Laci, Miles, Kenna, Tommy, Avery, and Henry! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
